In the run up to the recent UK appearance of DOOM at the Roundhouse for the Taste of Sonar event, I listened to nothing but his buttery flow for like, a whole working day, 9 hours of pure Daniel Dumile - even cruising Spotify and YouTube for those scattered verses he dropped for people like The Herbaliser and Daedelus. But even with a back catalogue as extensive as his, everytime the Madvillain LP, Madvillainy, is the one. Probably his most complete work to date, and a fusion so perfect between emcee and producer, Stones Throw stalwart Madlib.

J Rocc already confirmed that there was a second Madvillain record coming after dropping selected tracks on Benji B's radio show a while back, but now, thanks to Adult Swim you can kop the first taster of new material, the super short 'Papermill,' for nowt.

An ultra new Madvillain track, 'Savior Beans,' played by J Rocc on a recent Benji B retrospective on BBC 1xtra, spun into one of those youtube teasers you see about the place these days.

Note: For those of you just born, Madvillain is the combo of beatsmith savant Madlib and emcee DOOM (MF optional but no longer required) whose debut album 'Madvillainy' is one of the finest emcee/producer pairings ever heard by these ears.

Cue a lot of excitement at the second audio leak of the long promised new material...

VIDEO: DOOM - Gazillion Ear EP

Following on from one of the Sonic Router endorsed albums of 2009, DOOM's 'Born Like This,' LEX Records are releasing the 'Gazillion Ear EP' digitally on Monday - vinyl versions will materialise in early January - featuring remixes from Thom Yorke (of Radiohead), Jneiro Jarel & Dave Sitek (of TV On The Radio), Dr Who Dat? and an exclusive DOOM beat.

PRE-ORDER: DOOM - Unexpected Guests [Gold Dust Media]

A new DOOM album is an event. His last, 'Born Like This,' is definitely up there in the SR albums of '09 (more on that shortly) and in between that and the release of the 'Gazillion Ear EP' - which features Thom Yorke, yep, the dude from Radiohead, on remix duty - we get a compilation of off cuts, remixes and the like called 'Unexpected Guests.'
