PRE-ORDER: Likhan – Redlight/Quiet Riot [7even Recordings]

Proving that the French can handle the [bass] pressure and push things forward just as much as any London based label 7even Recordings return to the plate with a new 12” from Likhan, his third for the label, who make it up to 8 vinyl releases to date.

After numerous listens it transpires that ‘Redlight’ is the stand out cut. Rolling off the delightfully jigged up double clap drum pattern the bass – perfectly subbed, deep and low - ascends for the latter part of the main phrase bringing the momentum crashing down as the pulses dissappear in time for the first kick of each bar, giving it maximum punch and effect. Creating melody out of 909 congas that are echoed out around a eurphoric rave melody and slices of that true Detroit synth sound he lets things evolve before he adds the killer touch - a horror film lead and the delayed flight deck warning alarm from Red Dwarf circa series 4.

‘Quiet Riot’ fuses relaxed lounge pianos with long reverbed snares and the kind of bubbling melody that relies more on its root note than its progression, finding its feet in the repetition of the delay its encased in. The sub bass is more persistant than on the A side, repeatedly sything and stabbing at the drum pattern creating more of that short swelling wob wob Ramadanman and Peverelist use so well.

PRE-ORDER: Mordant Music – The Hauntological Song [Mordant Music]

Anyone who’s followed the works of Baron Mordant and Admiral Greyscale over the past 3 or 4 years should be salivating at this release. Each of their works, whether it’s a full length CD shaped as a tear, a picture disc 7” or a 3” CD presented in a petri dish complete with mould spores, is fiercely original; musically as much as stylistically.

Mordant Music also work - at times - with Sam Shackleton, the driving force behind one of the most individual labels to have graced dubstep in recent times, Skull Disco. At times on ‘The Hauntological Song’ you really can hear some of Shack’s influence wedged deep in the interaction of the insistently driving beat, the bass swells and the hyper delayed chipmunk pitched vocals. Diving further into techno than some of the other releases on the label the track ends up a thick funk of echoes that could easily soundtrack the lost moments of panic aroused by a fearful endorphin fuelled darkened corridor stupor.

Described by MM themselves as “the final turn of the card for the forthcoming Shackleton/MM compilation CD 'Picking O'er The Bones' due in April 2009”, its being released, in typical collector’s edition fashion, on a one sided, etched 10” which you can (pre)grab today from Boomkat.

Undeniably essential.

PRE-ORDER: Production Unit - Half Of A Hole [Highpoint Lowlife]

Lo-fi digital dancehall riddim’s crossed with techno sensibilities make for compelling listening when they’re buttered up like a digital hot cross bun from Scottish producer and Numbers resident, Production Unit. Releasing his latest digital only single, ‘Half Of A Hole’ on the Highpoint Lowlife label he stands with one foot in heavily 808 influenced acid house and the other in primitive drum driven digital dub.

‘A Little Hope’ kicks off like a Playstation built Music 2000 version of The Bug before getting a little more glitchy with some hypnotically glitched and stretched vocal samples panning around the mix. ‘Dem Sirens’ sounds more dub influenced with the heavy b-line taking the brunt of the attention off of the simple drum loop before the whistle that undoubtedly gives the track its name starts singing in its disturbed pitch bent tone. The second evolution is a floating pad chord sequence that flows through the rest of the track as a suspect 8-bit approximation of a guitar chugs and judders underneath.

Two slices of intrigue then from a producer whos already sent us a taster of what else is to come from him. Analogue sounds and drum machines are battling it out right now in a studio somewhere in Scotland and this man's vying for fans of your new style digital dub from the likes of Jahtari’s main man Disrupt and home made ‘I Love Acid Too’ style Christopher Just.

PRE-ORDER: Pangaea - Bear Witness/Mosaix [Hotflush Two]

Pangaea stole our hearts last year with ‘Router’; the song even gave this blog the second part of its name, thereby bringing a small part of our love for his label’s output into what we work on everyday and, after two releases on his Hessle Audio imprint (co-run with Ramadanman and Ben UFO), Pangaea’s out to maim on Scuba’s Hotflush Two label.

‘Bear Witness’
is the stand out of the two slices of pretty much perfect future garage on offer as the deep low slung sub bass and subtle 2-step rhythms play out under a beautiful, warm set of synth pads that are full of melancholic emotion. It’s a little reminiscent of ‘Changes’ by Mala from the recent Deep Medi release in the way the chords play with your emotions as the bass batters you.

‘Mosaix’ however is a jazzy little number that takes its main hook from a stand-up-bass bass line. The skitting percussion and splashy ride cymbals play off quick clipped vocal sample snatches and the garage-esque rhythm section. It’s a minimal composition, bringing only 5 or so separate musical elements to the dance and again, its moody and peppered with a healthy dash of melancholia, but the focus here is planted squarely on the drums. And when the punch and skip their way through the bars they don’t fail to disappoint.

PRE-ORDER: Phaelah – Fire (Feat. Ngaio) / Isolate [Surface Tension]

Bristol native Phaelah gets props from big names. Christine Vaccine’s gone on record as saying his productions are some of the most sublimely musical works out there. His previous releases on the Urban Scrumping label hint at this uber medolic work, but it would seem that the lad’s got a couple of sides to his production style as far as the seismic wobble of the bass drop on ‘Fire’ suggests.

Fusing that kind of paranoid bass frequency that slices deep into your gut - and makes you feel a little uncomfortable if you’re out raving on a full stomach - with a bold diva warbled vocal, ‘Fire’ forces you to into movement when the quick swelling bass throbs surges through into earshot underneath the vocal. You might also notice the use of a subtle old skool jungle drum pattern layered deep in the percussion, its touches like this that keep a hook heavy ‘single’ like this so interesting.

‘Isolate’ really does flip things from the A side though, backing the low end reliant stomp of ‘Fire’ with a rolling, percussion heavy number that utilises melodic strings, sweeping vocal loops and what sounds like a cleverly filtered double bass sample. Think Future Sound of London or A Guy Called Gerald at about 140 bpm and you won’t be to far off; it definitely has that old type, ambient dance vibe, plus when the sub rolls out under the complex drum pattern its instantly infectious.

PRE-ORDER: Various Production - Trycycle EP

Ever the mysterious musical chameleons, Various Production, follow up their brave experiment with Scottish spoken word artist Gerry Mitchell, ‘The Invisible Lodger’, with the ‘Trycycle EP’, marking a shift away from bold genre conglomerates and into heavily synthesizer led dubstep that has all the hallmarks of Gemmy and Rustie combined.

The title track chops and swirls its melody manically around a genuinely tough steppah beat whilst the b side, ‘B side’, takes more of a spacious hip hop flow with its drum programming, the melody stemming from a vocal snippet that’s repeatedly stabbed into the foreground of the mix. But the real peach of the three tracks on offer here is ‘Ramp’, which unlike the previous tracks doesn’t feel like its trying to emulate a style such as Joker’s or Rustie’s. It’s a clipped and skewed sparse instrumental that gets slayed by the relaxed vocal bars from emcee V.E.X., a man who hides a few championship winning punch lines in his verses buffing up the end product and making it pop off like how you wish that last Virus Syndicate LP would have.

Its taken a while for us to notice - seeing as he posted it in August last year - but as far as a sneak peek into someone’s hard drive goes its top stuff in a kind of Bullion meets Samiyam vein. Sort of simultaneously soulful and smooth with a big, bleepy, bass heavy low edge.

PRE-ORDER: Harmonic 313 - When Machines Exceed Human Intelligence

Harmonic 313* is one of the many pseudonyms of the prolific electronica producer Mark Pritchard and ‘When Machines Exceed Human Intelligence’ is his first album under the alias (although the trainspotters amongst you may have noted his work in Harmonic 33 with Dave Brinkworth). The album is a strange beast that’s a little bit too rigid and robotic a work to be deemed a purely off-kilter hip-hop album. Its bass heavy and yet its BPM means it’s too slow to be classified as dubstep, even though it does carry all the necessary hallmarks associated with the genre: mammoth bass weight and staggering drum daggers.

The gritty opener ‘Dirtbox’ sets the tone with bags of attitude and beastly sine waves. From there things flow along nicely until the sublime wonky dancehall dub’s of ‘Koln’ and ‘Galag-a’ really take hold with some of those early Warp-era sounding synth melodies making their heavy set impression felt. 'Flaash' absolutely tore apart the Brainfeeder soundsystem last year in a Shoreditch car park and 'Battlestar' featuring Phat Kat & Elzhi is a rap attack that entirely eclipses the speak and spell moments of its album predecessor 'Word Problems'.

At times the album can be a little too rigid and the computer voices spelling Harmonic 313 grate a little after a while, taking the repeat spins of certain tracks down to a minimum BUT as a blend crafter in this new age of genre cross pollination and scene bastardization there really is no one as good as Pritchard; when he’s on form he really is on top of the game.

*interesting fact - - 313, harks to the area code of Detroit - this could possibly be a shout to the influence the Detroit music scene has had on his productions or perhaps a name check to the run down area made famous by Eminem in 8 mile.

INTERVIEW: Vista [BoomBap!]

With several hard copy releases to his name on labels such as 3.5, 10 Bag and Rottun Records, Vista is casting a very watchable shadow about now. The man’s newer productions have a undeniable swing and appear to have mellowed and spread out into essential listens. He’s got numerous releases in the pipeline, his own productions and 12”s on his brand spanking new label. Sonic Router pinned him down to pick apart the pixels.

Sonic Router: Can you provide those who may not know you with a bit of background info?

Vista: I’m Vista, I’m 20 years old and have been producing dubstep for about 2 years.

Outside of music who are you? What do you do on the daily?

Not much! I’m stuck in a stale, purgatory state as I’m moving to Budapest tomorrow so my days of recent have been filled with silly AIM conversations and Xbox, besides the music of course.

How did you get into recording music?

I started when I was about 16/17, I found a copy of Fruity Loops and started trying to write hip hop beats, I was really into my backpacker stuff (Madlib, LB, PUTS, Jehst) at the time so tried to emulate them and failed miserably. I slowly started to write DnB and getting into synthesis more so once I came across dubstep, it seemed to be the perfect medium to marry the sample based stuff with the synthesis stuff… at least in theory.

I’ve continued to learn my trade writing dubstep, but persisted with other genres as well, this is definitely something I’d endorse as you’re pushed to learn about different things which you can later adapt to your dubstep productions.

What’s your production set up like?

Pretty basic, just a laptop and a pair of Alesis M1 Active monitors, I don’t even have a midi keyboard, I just use my QWERTY one. The only piece hardware I own is my microkorg, which more often than not is counterproductive as I just loop what I’ve sttarted and jam for an hour pretending I’m Bobby Worrell instead; but it is useful tapping out melodies.

Do you have any regular processes you go through when making music? Any go-to synths etc?

Unless the catalyst is a synth patch or a sample, I usually start with my drums, then work on a melody, chords or a bassline, once I’ve got the basis of that penned, I work on more musical elements for the intro, then I look for effects to fill the sound… Then I work on keeping the main motif interesting and work on edits and switches.

My go-to synth is the z3ta; I love it to bits and use it for most tracks. It’s so versatile but has a strong and distinctive sound, the modulation matrix and effects offer a lot of manipulation. I have about 600 patches of z3ta sounds I’ve made over the years, so usually if I’m after a sound I can draw from the z3ta folder and find what I’m looking for quite quickly.

Can you name 3 artists/albums/whatevs that have most influenced your production to date?

This is tough, I can’t think of a certain artist or album at has influenced me throughout my oeuvre, it changes constantly but right now these are influencing me to write tunes…

YMO
Metro Area
Sugardaddy – ‘Love Honey’

Your label, Boombap! Records, is it a solo thing? Who else is behind it? What’s the ethos behind the label? What/Who can we expect on the label?

It’s just me behind it, even though I sometimes refer to the label as a “we”, as it’s the artists who make up its identity. It started because of ‘Numbers’ really, I mentioned to THC that I wanted to eventually start a label, so he kept asking if I was ready but nothing was taking my fancy. Then I heard ‘Numbers’ by Madd and I was blown away; it had a such a unique sound so from there I kicked on with the label. I’ve signed Desto for 002 which should be out soon once I get the artwork back, then we have releases forthcoming from myself, None (bop) as well as a remix EP coming out.

The ethos behind the label was to focus on quality, to push new and unique music with a shelf-life and just generally stuff that I like. I didn’t want to do upfront party stuff, more chilled home listening. My musical output is generally quite varied, so I am using the label as a vehicle to focus on more chilled sounds.

What’s coming up from you in ’09?

I’ve got a whole bunch of tracks coming out which probably should have been out about a year or so ago but have taken ages to come to fruition, tracks like ‘Lounge Dub’, ‘Neptune’, ‘Dulivan’ etc.

My next release is the ‘Scruffy Hoodlum EP’ with Force field, Guess Work and Ripple. I have a whole bunch of new stuff I’m working on and will spend the next few months kicking on with the production, so I hope to have a new batch of tunes for the summer.

Can you leave us with some words of wisdom?

Anyone that knows me knows I am in no position to offer out wisdom.

Vista is playing Innovation @ SE One in London on the 14th March.

PRE-ORDER: Kromestar - My Sound

Kromestar is prolific. The man has officially got 12”s coming out of his ears; barely a week or two goes by without a new beat of his being heard by someone, somewhere. He’s fresh on the release of his debut full length titled ‘My Sound’ and yet only last year he dropped an album with Hatcha!

Harbouring a traditional, more ‘classic’ dubstep sound the tracks haven’t got that aggy streak coursing through the lfos; nor do they pulsate with any kind of an infusion of techno. They are purely the sound of smoothed out soul infused dub... and for that the album benefits greatly.

Plastic horn stabs, big bass and skipping snare patterns echo the vibes of the Anti-Social Entertainment crew drawing influence from the work of Silkie and Quest and their deep, warmly meditative productions. Kromestar’s work seems to wander, his melodies want to dance from vibe to vibe but somehow he consistently manages to convey the mellow, hazy vibe that makes you gently swagger, rather than gunfinger the roof tiles, when you’re deep in the dance.

PRE-ORDER: Durrty Goodz - Ultrasound

The long awaited 2nd CD from Durrty Goodz is finally here (as a physical sales exclusive to UKrecordshop.com) and it’s certainly taken its own sweet time in coming. ‘Ultrasound’, the follow up to one of the top grime releases to date, the ever on point ‘Axiom EP’, is actually only the pre-album to Goodz’s highly anticipated full length ‘Born Blessed’ which could be due out some time later this year.

There’s some big productions included with every beat sounding particularly stacked and punchy. Contributing producers Nocturnal, Rudekid, Taz Buckfaster, Bouncer, Demos, Maniac and Joker all pull out the big guns and a lot of the time they find the middle ground sweet-spot between grime and dubstep, which really suits Goodz and provides him the platform he needs to jump on the tracks and own them with his astoundingly quick lyrical dispatch.

Dealing lyrically with mostly ‘grime’ matters such as people going mainstream, other emcees rhyming bars on top of electro beats and the death of raves and of the scene in general, he unfurls his raps with a big shit eating grin on his face, knowing - in some part at least - that his bars are absolutely slaying each instrumental.

Bear in mind: this is just the warm up for ‘Born Blessed’. The bar was pushed sky high after Goodz's turns on 'Axiom' and if the variation Goodz displays continues to flow then fans are in for a serious treat when his full length finally drops.

PRE-ORDER: Herrmutt Lobby – Bassfudge Powerscones EP

Eat Concrete are a Dutch label who have previously homed releases from Take and D-Frost and Hermutt Lobby, the latest artist 12” on the label, appears to be a collective of Belgian producers rather than the larger than life computer consuming hobo figure I had him pegged for the first time I heard his music. Swarming the kick drum punches with laser stabs and crystallized swirls, the 'Bassfudge Powerscones EP' is a strain of mutilated, robot sampling hip hop that punishes and stretches headphones and aging Tannoy monitors alike.

‘Fat Manual’ and ‘Rock The Bell’ are the must haves here, for their conceited head nod infection and the latter for it's subtle use of trickling turntable induced melody. ‘Play’ uses melodies that do sound a little like an emotional heart to heart between a modem and a fax machine but within all the blips and squiggles there is a tidy surplus of infectious beats and monolithic bass to make this another essential Eat Concrete plate.

PRE-ORDER - Lloop - 60 Hertz

Lloop is Rich Panciera, a bass producer hailing from Austria (now based in the Big Apple). As an engineer and general noise maker he’s been around since day one, the man once opened for The Orb with his electronic band WE™ and he co-built Bass Mind Studio in Brooklyn.

‘60 Hertz’ is a wonderful mix of big soundsystem bangers and warehouse party monsters with a dub infused jungle vibe squeezed into the ever widening dubstep template. Highlights include the dubbed out reggae monster, ‘Ritter Dub’ which has a huge low end reminiscent of RSD and King Tubby. There is a really laid back smokers paradise feel to it, with echo drenched dub samples flying at you from all angles.

You can also hear a big hip-hop influence in the sampling, which you would probably expect form someone so engrained in the NY scene. This can be seen in the dancehall bomb, ‘Conch’ pretty well and you’ll be reaching to un-sheath your pistol fingers when ‘ODB Scripta Elegans’ drops with its monumental bass driving the eerie, gritty samples.

If you’re a fan of deep, dark and moody explorations in sound from the likes of Untold’s rhythmic shuffle, Shackleton’s doom filled bass shakers or Mala’s dubby soundsystem riddims; Lloop may well push your buttons.

INTERVIEW: Rekordah [Pollen]

Rekordah aka Luke Owen makes hip hop music. He first came to our attention with his mix on High Rise Clothing’s blog a few months back and being the keen innovators (ahem: idea stealers) that we are we asked him to whip up us our own little exclusive and give him some space to vent.

Sonic Router: Can you provide those who may not know you with a bit of background info?

Rekordah: No problem. My name is Luke and I make beats under the name Rekordah. I'm originally from Bristol but have been studying in London for the past couple of years. I've been making beats for a while now but I feel like I only just found my feet recently and it's going really well - been getting some really good feedback from some of my favourite artists.

I co-run Pollen with EFA, we put on nights in Bristol to push this sound and have had Mike Slott, Lone, Slugabed, Bullion and Metske come down. We also run the Pollen record label and have got some really exciting shit in the pipeline.

Outside of music who are you? What do you do on the daily?

I'm a lazy student! Haha. Just studying really, can't say I do much more other than catching up on sleep and making beats. It's a hard life

How did you get into recording music?

I learnt the Saxophone at school and also got into using sequencers on the computers at school. From there I went to college to study Music Technology and have been producing music ever since.

What’s your set up like?

My setup is extremely basic, just my laptop and a pair of headphones most of the time. Infact I only just got a pair of monitors a few months ago - and to be honest I rarely use them, just for mixing down really. You could put it down to laziness and lack of disposable income but I genuinely like keeping it simple, it keeps the process informal - just working on raw ideas rather than spending ages tweaking basic elements.

Do you have any regular processes you go through when making music?

Nah not really. Its weird I never seem to do anything worthwhile when I put my mind to it, the stuff I’m most happy with seems to be all made when I've just sat down and thrown some ideas together without thinking about it. In fact ‘Bedroom Suite’ was mostly done on the train and I found that to be really inspiring for some reason. Maybe I should do that more often…

Musical influences (to me anyway) are always so vast asking someone to name one is like sacrilege to my entire record collection. Can you name 3 artists/albums/whatevs that have most influenced your production to date?

Oooo, that's a hard one. Hmmmmm, there are indeed too many to choose from. To be honest it changes all the time and I’m getting a lot of inspiration from people like Rustie, HudMo, Slugabed, Bullion, Mike Slott, Mweslee, Dorian Concept. But off the top of my head, I’d have to say Dilla, Fugazi and David Axelrod

Did J Dilla change your life?

J who? Hahah just kidding. Yeah for sure, definitely.

So… ‘Wonky’… its been dis-credited as it’s own genre term and yeah its wanky and shortsighted but (in your opinion) does it convey the slanted and stuttering aspect of the music? What would you call it?

Yeah sure, it definitely describes an element in the music fairly well. It’s just that its usage seems to imply that it’s the prime element. I think that’s what people find frustrating, there’s so much substance and variety in the music and to reduce it to "Wonky" is just incredibly lazy and shallow.

To me it's Hip-Hop and everybody else I’ve met who are on this tip feel the same - I don't think anybody active in this sound feels that "Wonky" is a helpful tag. Nor is a tag even needed in my opinion.

What’s coming up for you in ’09? Any releases in the pipeline?

Yeah there’s various bits and pieces in the pipeline, and I should be putting out some music myself in the not too distant future. It's gonna be a really exciting year for me I think… I'm playing all over the place at the moment and it's really surreal.

You can catch Rekordah at Pollen @ The Tube in Bristol on the 5th March with Lukid and Red Rack'Em.

PRE-ORDER - Mount Kimbie - Maybes EP

Scuba’s Hotflush imprint has taken dubstep away from the standard wob wob/half time drum template, infecting it with everything from techno to minimal and beyond and in doing so they’ve created a signature kind of melancholy that works as well in headphones as it does on a suped up rig.

The Berlin based label’s latest signing, Mount Kimbie, further this sound exploration with their atmospheric adventures. Whether its taking the mood ridden guitars of Canadian emcee Soso and ripening their textured skin with pitched up vocals and stuttering percussion on title track ‘Maybes’ or making their melodies sound like drips caught in a sewer on the aptly named ‘Taps’ this duo are taking dubstep away from the dancefloor and marrying it with elements of drone and minimal beat programming too astoundingly listenable effect.

Rob Booth’s excellent Electronic Explorations show featured two mixes from Mount Kimbie a few weeks back. Both members put one together and both of them contain original music from the production duo.

INTERVIEW: Ramp Recordings

With assorted releases due - from full length’s to 7”s - from people like Clouds, Slugabed, FaltyDL and Computer Jay it’s looking like the first quarter of 2009 belongs to a small but perfectly formed alternative hip hop label going under the collective title, Ramp.

After a bundle of hurried instant messenger conversations label boss Tom Kerridge kindly shed a little light on their forthcoming releases for us:

Sonic Router: So whats coming after this February shaped hump for Ramp?

Tom@Ramp: “I’m really excited about the FaltyDL album, it’s so varied but everything ties in so well… it goes from straight up sample hip hop to garage, to IDM to drum n bass to techno. DL is a very clever lad!

“Computer Jay's ‘Who Is Computer Jay’ EP is the best collection of tunes I have ever had the pleasure to have involvement in. He has been playing keys for the Pharcyde for the past 4 years, and often collaborates with Gaslamp Killer, Flylo & Dam Funk. I am absolutely shocked the man is not known as an artist in his own right, because I really can't think of anybody making better music than him right now.

“Also - Clouds have made me the best dubstep record I think I have ever heard, but you won't be hearing that for at least 6 months…. And Shortstuff's ‘A Rustling’, which I recently picked up is already getting played by people you might not expect like Mumdance and Diplo, so look out for another ‘Strange Fruit’ sized crossover record right there…"

Zomby – Strange Fruit

Anything else coming from Zomby?

“Yeah - of course there’s the walking dead extrasolar emostep producer Zomby's upcoming EP. It’s really going to shock some people. Taking dark garage and dubstep, and mixing it up with crunk and funky, and coming out sounding like... well... like Zomby!”

Is that it...?

“Basically I’m looking to keep on doing what I'm doing; teaming up cool music with crazy artwork, developing my artists, and all that. I don't really have any plans for world domination with download sites or clothing companies or direct distribution or any of these other silly ideas labels have, I'm just pushing to get a fair deal for artists and producers that I think deserve a chance of getting heard!"

You can keep up to date with the releases, including updates on a Flying Lotus & Declaime EP which Tom’s been far too modest to mention above (featuring bi-polar raps and hella FlyLo drum shaped oddities) at their myspace:

DOWNLOAD: King Cannibal - Riddim & Bruise Mix

I remember hearing Busdriver spit some fast paced nonsense about "... the year of KC" ages and ages ago... probably on his 'Cosmic Cleavage' album, (its the only one that really gets repeat plays from me)... and it's never really held any relevance. That is until now and until this post.

2009 could well be the year of Dylan Richards aka King Cannibal. His 2nd 12" for Ninja Tune is due soon and he's hard at work in his studio on some "shit you might not expect" type of shit. From the special, uber-priviledged glimpse he gave me recently its definitely worth the wait.

PRE-ORDER: Martyn/2562 - Yet/Kontrol (Tectonic)

The latest plate from Tectonic hit the electronic doormat a couple of weeks back and Pinch, aka label boss Rob Ellis, is releasing a split 12” of Dutch destruction featuring a track a piece from Martyn and 2562.

2562’s ‘Kontrol’ harbours an industrial swirling synth that slowly flanges its way around the minimalistic drum patterns whilst Martyn, here pre-empting the release of his imminent ‘Great Lengths’ album unleashes a thick 2-step beat with synth washes that build and swell in on themselves on ‘Yet’.

Additional props go out to Martyn for his inclusion of the facebook IM bing (as well as his sterling production…) it’ll keep you alt-tab shortcutting the whole way through as you rush to check your phantom messages.

Pinch has just upped the audio to his myspace, chip here to investigate:

I've bantered Buddy Peace for a while. He was kind enough to write words for a previous project and play a few records for us at a couple of the 3 Bar Fire nights. He's an archetypal nice dude which makes it even better to announce he's joined the ranks of Strange Famous Records (run by Sage Francis).

This is a pretty big deal.
